I never gave grain, pepper mints, or treats to my horses or ponies. My dad once gave grain to a really nice bull that we had and preety soon it was humungs right in my dads face knoking him down for more treats we had to give that bull away! Then you get a steping stool and step up until the horses back is about at level with your hips. Then gently lean over the horse so it gets used to the wight on his/her back.Next put the saddle on his back. And put one foot in the sterup, tip, put all of your wight in it.Then swing your leg over and talk to him for a while. After that que him to move in to a walk, then trot, and so on.                                              &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;                Hint, to keep him/her from bucking push her/him on it is harder for them to buck while moving.
